How it works

First Myofunctional Therapy Appointment: Will typically be done in-person. This will be an evaluation and examination of your mouth, throat, and airway to determine any myofunctional disorder. The first appointment will be about an hour and a half. The initial exam will consist of taking photographs, video of swallowing patterns, go over a summary of conditions, and a description of your treatment plan. 

Consecutive Appointments: Most follow up therapy sessions will be conducted over a telehealth platform, such as Zoom. If the patient prefers  in-person care this can be arranged. For the most part, therapy sessions should last about 30 minutes. We will meet every other week for about 12 weeks* 

Expectations: The patient will be expected to complete physically therapy types of exercises for several minutes every day to achieve desired outcomes.

Costs: 

 Initial Exam Fee: 150.00 

Therapy Length: Approximately 12 weeks (Can be longer-depends on severity of dysfunction), meet with therapist 2x per month.  

During your initial consultation the patient will receive a quote for complete therapy (based on an estimated number of sessions).  The patient can pay for therapy as one lump sum or spread the cost into monthly payments. 

Disclaimer: Dental and medical insurance usually don't help with the costs associated with myofunctional therapy, However funds from from FSA and HSA accounts can be used. **The cost of the consultation is not included in the cost of the therapy.
